One day trip to Gaganachukki & Bharachukki falls

One day trip to Shivanasamudra
( Gaganachukki & Bharachukki falls )

Best Visiting time : June to September ( the water falls looks full and gorgeous during this season). The climate is moderate entire year.
It was a short one day trip

Thanks to hotstuff for his help with directions. Just after Maddur, we took the left to Malavali. The road till Malavali was not great and certain stretch was bad. We could not travel at more than 30-40KM/hr. From Malavali till Ganaganchukki, the road was good. It was newly laid I think. The journey from Maddur to Gaganachukki took close to 90 minutes. We reached Gaganachukki . Though the waterfalls was not at its best (as I have seen in few other photos), still it looked good. There was not much of crowd when we went, but before we could return, lot of school children arrived by then. We spent close to an hour. Some photos I took on the way and in Gaganachukki.

Here the River Cauvery meanders to fall into cascading Shivasamudram Falls. This sparking waterfalls flows through the abundant sylvan forest of Karnataka in Deccan Plateau, plunges 320 feet into gorge into a spate, breaking into a cloud of misty foam. The falls are 893 metres wide.

In the Western Ghats of Kodagu district at Talacauvery, River Cauvery emerges and meanders to join the Rivers Harangi, Hemavathi, Lakshmana Thirtha and Kapila creating number of waterfalls. Cauvery forms many islands throughout its journey from Talacaurvery to Bay of Bengal. One such island is Shivanasamudra or Bluff. At Shivasamudram also called Bluff or Simsha, this water falls has twin jumps, the Gagana Chukki or the Western falls and the Bara/Bhara Chukki or the Eastern falls.

Quite a capacity that, and we also received some help from the boatman to get the Moped in and out of the boat. He charged Rs 100 for an round

The way back was again through the same route.. so we reached back Bangalore in no time.. No tips and tricks for this trip.. as the road was good and travelling by Bike has its own advantage.. & adventures
