Manchinabele dam

Manchinabele dam

It is nearby downstream. It is a trekking location. It provides water to Magadi town, Kayaking also conducted here. Species of Water Snakes are also visibleManchanbele dam is very beautiful place near bangalore. May be around 40 Km from bangalore towards Mysore.

Manchanabele dam is an ideal weekend getaway from Bangalore. It is serene & peaceful with abundance of nature around.Nice to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Food needs to be carried
We proceeded few more meters further to reach the water place. If you travel by your own vehicle, you can even take your vehicle near the water itself. But its good to park it little far by not polluting the region around the water.

too many deaths over the years! This dam is actually not on a river or flowing water...but actually built to store rain water...hence the more-than-average silt .... quicksand.... a death trap if ever there was one.

Some of the photographs of this natures beauty

Manchanabele Reservoir Lake is Also spelled Manchanbele, Manchinabele, Manchinbele dam.

Dodda Alada Mara

Dodda Alada Mara

Bangalore Rural District

The Doda Alada Mara (also spelled Dodda Alada Mara), literally translated to Big Banyan Tree, is a giant Banyan tree located in the village of Ramohalli, near kengeri approximately 60 kilometers west of the city of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This single plant covers 3 acres (12,000 m2) and is one of the largest of its kind. It is said to be at least 400 years old

A few years back, the main root of the tree succumbed to natural disease, and thus the tree looks like many different trees now.

Big Banyan Tree and " The Village Resort". It is in a village called Ramohalli about 6-7 km on the road that links Mysore Road with Magadi Road. This road is on the right about 5 km from Kengeri next to Rajarajeshwari Dental College

LOCATION:
Ramohalli, 25 to 28 kms South-East bound from the City...
Situated in Kethohalli village..

Mysore road is great and it is Fun

It is believed that the tree is symbolic of the trinity with the roots representing Brahma, the stems and the bark representing Vishnu and the branches symbolising Maheshwara...The Banyan Tree has its place in Buddhism as well as Lord Buddha attained his enlightenment under a Bodhi Tree which is also a Banyan Tree of the species Sacred Fig...

There is also a small Shiva / Lord Muneshwara temple in the enclosure...

Watch out for the ancestors ....

One day trip to Gaganachukki & Bharachukki falls

One day trip to Shivanasamudra
( Gaganachukki & Bharachukki falls )

Best Visiting time : June to September ( the water falls looks full and gorgeous during this season). The climate is moderate entire year.
It was a short one day trip

Thanks to hotstuff for his help with directions. Just after Maddur, we took the left to Malavali. The road till Malavali was not great and certain stretch was bad. We could not travel at more than 30-40KM/hr. From Malavali till Ganaganchukki, the road was good. It was newly laid I think. The journey from Maddur to Gaganachukki took close to 90 minutes. We reached Gaganachukki . Though the waterfalls was not at its best (as I have seen in few other photos), still it looked good. There was not much of crowd when we went, but before we could return, lot of school children arrived by then. We spent close to an hour. Some photos I took on the way and in Gaganachukki.

Here the River Cauvery meanders to fall into cascading Shivasamudram Falls. This sparking waterfalls flows through the abundant sylvan forest of Karnataka in Deccan Plateau, plunges 320 feet into gorge into a spate, breaking into a cloud of misty foam. The falls are 893 metres wide.

In the Western Ghats of Kodagu district at Talacauvery, River Cauvery emerges and meanders to join the Rivers Harangi, Hemavathi, Lakshmana Thirtha and Kapila creating number of waterfalls. Cauvery forms many islands throughout its journey from Talacaurvery to Bay of Bengal. One such island is Shivanasamudra or Bluff. At Shivasamudram also called Bluff or Simsha, this water falls has twin jumps, the Gagana Chukki or the Western falls and the Bara/Bhara Chukki or the Eastern falls.

Quite a capacity that, and we also received some help from the boatman to get the Moped in and out of the boat. He charged Rs 100 for an round

The way back was again through the same route.. so we reached back Bangalore in no time.. No tips and tricks for this trip.. as the road was good and travelling by Bike has its own advantage.. & adventures

Shivaganga Hills Bangalore Karnataka India

Hi friends,
This blog is about the trips i have gone and enjoyed and felt to share this with trip loving people and this is my first trip experience.

How to reachShivaganga Temple

Shivagange Temple of Bangalore, Karnataka is located around 70 kms from Bangalore (Bengaluru) via Tumkur Road. Take the Tumkur Road until Dobaspet (about 50 plus kilometers) and head to Shivaganga from there (about 10 Kms). Make sure to use the National Highway 4 as the road condition is extremely good and you will reach within a short span of time. The journey is very comfortable and traveling to the top will be fun and enjoyable.

Lord Shiva temple in Shivagange hills

Ones one reaches the top of the hill, they can find Nandi statue in Shivagange hills of Bangalore, Karnataka. There is only supporting metal like thing to hold and climb the hill. Ones one reaches this Nandi, he can find the 36 degree view of the hill. There is also a big rock where there is one more temple which also gives a broad look of Shivagange hills of Bangalore, Karnataka.

Pathala Gange temple in Shivagange hills of Bangalore
Entering the path would lead to ancient statues of serpents which is "Naga devatas". The temple gives a very ancient look. Within this is a temple of Lord Shiva. Further to this is the "Pathala Gange". It is a big rock within the temple where there is Ganga water. The place is very dark and steps are made for people to walk and touch the water beneath the place. As the water is beneath this is so called Pathala Gange. The way via steps also leads to the temple of Lord Shiva at the top of the Hill. The place is within the hills is a bit dark. These two temples are on reachable points and many try to reach this temple and return back.
